Telehealth appointments
Telehealth provides psychological appointments by video when it is clinically appropriate. Eden offers telehealth to clients located in Victoria. Suitability is assessed individually, and the approved platform and process are confirmed before an appointment.
Is telehealth suitable?
Telehealth may suit people who live at a distance, have mobility or transport barriers, prefer their own environment, or need flexibility. It may be less suitable where privacy cannot be maintained, risk is acute, technology is unreliable, the client has difficulty engaging by video, or in-person assessment and support are clinically preferable. Suitability can change over time.
What you will need
A private, safe and quiet space; a device with camera and microphone; a stable internet connection; a current telephone number; and the physical address where you are located during the appointment. Headphones may improve privacy.
Location and safety
You must remain in Victoria for the session unless another arrangement has been confirmed in advance. An appointment is unlikely to begin if you are in a public setting where privacy cannot be maintained, and it will not proceed while you are driving. At the start of an appointment, Matthew may confirm your current location and a suitable emergency contact.
Privacy and technology
Choose a space where you cannot be overheard. The practice will explain the relevant technology and limits of confidentiality before telehealth proceeds.
If technology fails
Matthew will attempt to reconnect and may call the number on file. If the session cannot continue, the next step will be discussed.
Fees and cancellations
The $225 standard fee applies unless another arrangement has been agreed. The current draft cancellation approach requests at least two business days’ notice; the final policy will be confirmed before an appointment is accepted.
A private, quiet and well-lit space helps support a focused telehealth session.
